Emily Bochno, a skincare enthusiast and rising Sydney influencer, has struggled with ance-prone skin throughout her teens. Read on Emily’s journey as she embraces her unique skin and discovers Feat By You’s transformative yet gentle ingredients.

Talk us through your skincare routine

"I love to do my skincare after I have showered – so whether it's in the morning or night doesn't matter to me! I have been using skincare regularly since 2018 and have seen a difference in my skin. To counteract my usually dry and blemish-prone skin, I always make sure I cleanse, tone, and moisturise as a base. Also, when I have the chance, I like to try out different serums to see the effect they have in boosting my current skin. I don't think I could commit to a full 10-step routine, but it's nice to experiment to see what is right for my skin at different times of the year."

Tell us a bit about yourself. What are your hobbies?

"I am definitely the girl who has a new hobby every month! I am currently working as an administrator by day and a creative 24/7, so I have taken up some more flexible hobbies like dancing and reading. I love to get lost down rabbit holes, and both of these work well for me. My current tally is 17 books and 3 dances for the previous year."

What are some of your favorite skincare tips and tricks?

"My favorite skincare tip is using cleansing oil as a makeup remover! I wear a light amount of makeup and noticed that my traditional makeup wipes were irritating my skin. Using the oil before my full skincare routine to remove makeup is much more gentle, and the product also lasts longer for me. My favorite skincare trick is to cleanse my face and neck while in the shower! I sometimes forget to start my skincare routine, so my shower helps me ensure that I am doing skincare at least once a day. Also, I don't have to struggle with awkwardly doing a half-split over the sink to wash my face with water. If you're even more daring, you can also wash off clay masks in the shower too. Another tip is to start applying your sunscreen every day, right now! Your future self will thank me later!"

How would you describe your skincare journey and how it was evolved?

"I am so lucky I wasn't a girl who only washed her face with soapy water growing up. I did have acne-prone skin throughout my teens, and that is something I struggled with. I was trying every type of sensitive skincare range from chemists. I didn't know until my 20s that it was hormone-related, so stressing was what actually made it worse! I found a love for skincare going to local beauticians and realized that everyone has different reactions to different skincare, and that's okay! That is part of the journey.
